Job Description:
The V2X Systems Engineering department in Indianapolis, IN is hiring! We are hiring innovative thinkers wishing to work with emerging technologies on defense solutions recognized around the world.
V2X in Indianapolis is in need of a collaborative, self-starting, highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to help service, maintain, and upgrade RF electronics capabilities for our U.S. Navy customers. Responsibilities include deriving system requirements and developing system architectures, laboratory integration & test and data analysis, and providing system installations & upgrades onsite at customer locations. Approximately 20% travel will be required. Experience working with military standards, satellite communications systems, and Linux-based data processing equipment is desired. This position requires an active Secret security clearance upon hire.
Required Skills:
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) electronics
Experience with electronic circuit design
Experience with test, integration, & troubleshooting of electronics
Experience with satellite link performance
Experience with antenna design
Experience with RF networks
Basic understanding of RF/microwave principles
Experience with RF/microwave test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, & signal generators)
Basic understanding of RF antenna design concepts
Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, C, JavaScript, etc.)
Desired Skills:
Experience with electronics in military applications
Experience with embedded programming
Familiarity with signal processing concepts
Advanced understanding of RF circuit design concepts
Advanced understanding of RF antenna design concepts
Advanced understanding of RF propagation theory
Familiarity with script writing for Linux based operating systems
Experience with the systems engineering design process
Experience with requirements development
Experience working directly with subcontractors at the technical level
Experience working directly with customers at the technical level
Ability to correlate technical topics with management considerations
Familiarity with the systems engineering design process
Basic understanding of common electromagnetic compliance (EMC) practices
Basic understanding of closed-loop electronic control systems
Experience with RF/microwave test equipment: (VNAs, VNA calibration kits, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters and power heads, signal generators, arbitrary waveform generators, RF/microwave coaxial connectors, and transmission lines (coaxial, waveguide, microstrip, grounded coplanar waveguide, etc)
Firm understanding of electric power delivery / wiring
Fluent with Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access
Excellent communication skills
Education Requirements:
