The Data Processing Unit (DPU) team brings together state-of-the-art software and hardware expertise to create a highly programmable and high-performance ASIC with the capability to efficiently handle large data streams. Thanks to its integrated design, this solution empowers teams to operate with increased agility and deliver significantly superior performance compared to CPU-based alternatives.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our DPU Runtime (OS) team responsible for developing cutting edge, high-performance scalable and programmable DPU software with a focus on embedded multi-core kernel and services development. You will be a key contributor within our DPU OS software team. You will bring your computer software and embedded development experience to contribute to DPU OS code and related software service and support. Your contributions will have a wide impact across Azure through the development of the latest generation DPU OS.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design embedded OS firmware for the DPU with an emphasis on device performance and security

• Develop, maintain and debugsystemissues, including use of Jtag, scope, protocolanalyzers, etc

• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers

• Mentor junior members of the team

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming languages

• Strong understanding of Computer Architecture and Operating Systems

• Strong understanding of real-time multi-core CPU, OS services

• Good software development methodology and design sense

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in debuggingfirmware and/or operating system code

• Experience with peer code review, and Git

• Embedded software experience
