The Farm Laborer will manually plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, greens, herbs, lettuce, potatoes, radishes, turnips, squash, melons, peppers, eggplant, peas, beans, tomatoes, and some flowers). Duties will include transplanting, seeding, weeding, thinning, pruning, cleaning, packing, washing, and harvesting produce. Some duties will require the applicant to work on and around machinery and trucks. Construction of trellises and fences, participate in irrigation practices and equipment set up, and use hand tools including harvest knives, clippers, and shovels. Maintain the farm property and buildings (mowing, weed-whacking, and general cleaning). Work schedule is 7:30am to 5:00pm with a 1/2 hour for lunch daily. Only workers meeting all qualifications on the job order should be referred by the Job Service Office.
