Description
We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Houston, Texas (Hobby Airport Area). This role is in the accounting industry and involves supporting the accounting department with various tasks including processing invoices, managing customer accounts, and assisting with the annual budget process.
Responsibilities:
• Handling Accounts Receivable duties such as creating and distributing customer invoices, processing credit card payments, and performing collections on overdue accounts
• Managing Accounts Payable by processing invoices, ensuring proper coding, and preparing payments
• Assisting in the preparation and entry of journal entries as required
• Reviewing and analyzing employee expense reports in accordance with company guidelines
• Processing bank deposits and applying payments in accounts receivable
• Assisting with the monthly and year-end close process
• Compiling data for the annual budget process
• Maintaining Excel spreadsheets for reconciliation of accounts and other analysis
• Providing accounting assistance to other departments as needed
• Administering support tasks such as ordering office supplies and assisting with special projects.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience with Accounts Provisioning
• Demonstrated ability to handle Bank Deposits
• Skilled in managing Credit Card Payments
• Experience with Collections - Commercial
• Capability to handle Expense Reports
• Proficiency in creating Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with Year-end Close procedures
