Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
This role is responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, records of accounts, and various financial reports adhering to deadlines. The position involves researching and resolving variances and discrepancies, developing, documenting, and maintaining procedures and workflows, participating in projects and implementations, fixed asset accounting, assisting in preparing budgets and forecasts, and month-end closing for financial reporting. All tasks must be performed in compliance with GAAP.
Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, records of accounts, and various financial reports adhering to deadlines.
Research and resolve variances and discrepancies.
Develop, document, and maintain procedures and workflows.
Participate in projects and implementations.
Conduct fixed asset accounting.
Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Execute month-end closing for financial reporting.
Ensure all activities comply with GAAP.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred.
3+ years of experience within accounting.
Proficiency and thorough understanding of accounting processes such as reconciliations, daily journal entries, and sub-ledgers.
Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting, bank reconciliation, and fixed assets.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Proficiency in accounting systems (FAS).
Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong analytical abilities to understand and resolve complex problems.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with clear and concise oral and written communication.
Ability to comprehend and comply with GAAP, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ability to analyze information, make decisions, and develop solutions based on sound judgment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in fixed asset accounting.
Experience in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Experience in month-end closing for financial reporting.
