Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.
Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.
Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.
Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary
This position offers problem solving and challenging leadership opportunities on various transmission interconnection initiatives and represents Power Portfolios in various key internal and external stakeholder committees. Additionally this position represents PSEG LI/LIPA on technical stakeholder committees, regulatory matters and litigation processes and makes strategic technical decisions on various initiatives. This position pioneers the future by leading the reliable integration of cutting edge technologies into the LIPA system. The primary focus for this position will be New York Independent System Operator (NYISO). Interconnection Customers and PSEG Long Island internal stake support on transmission interconnection both for resource and load.
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) launched a new interconnection process featuring “significant improvements and enhancements” meant to evaluate large groups of interconnection requests at a time instead of individually. NYISO’s “Cluster Study” process and other modifications were developed in collaboration with stakeholders through the NYISO’s governance process in recent years. As a result of this big reform, NYISO study process for interconnection changed significantly, and now through the cluster study approach PSEG LI on behalf of LIPA will take the lead on performing and managing the NYISO Study process with NYISO and Interconnection Customers.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Demonstrated knowledge of Long Island Electric System, Knowledge of NYISO market structure.
Awareness and knowledge of NYISO Transmission Interconnection Process and recent interconnection study reform.
Wholesale Power contracting experience, both from commercial and regulatory end. Participate and contribute “cradle to grave” contract management from early involvement with developing the scope of work, RFP process, contract negotiation.
Project Management of Generating Resources (Renewable/Non-Renewable) to LIPA Transmission and Distribution System.
Will represent Power Portfolios and its deliverables effectively at various internal and external stakeholder committees and meetings
Provide support on technical end to assist Renewable and Non-Renewable projects proposed to interconnect to LIPA Transmission System.
Assist in negotiations of Interconnection Agreements, Engineering and Procurement Agreements and other Regulatory and operational agreements with Legal, LIPA, other internal stakeholders, Interconnection customers and NYISO.
As needed, this position will need to provide support across all Power Portfolios efforts including, but not limited to, assisting with managing the NYISO Cluster study process, assist with review in changes in regulations and policies, commercial contract administration, and assist with current Interconnection contracts with existing resource and load resources in LI.
Assist in the process of engineering review and analysis of meter data based on commercial contracts and ensure all proper follows ups are timely taking place (both internal and external)
Position will assist the management on the efforts to ensure the interconnection procedures and guidelines are regularly updated and make recommendations for revisions or develop new interconnection guidelines in response to evolving technologies in the electric industry.

Required
BS Degree in Electrical
Minimum of 6 years relevant engineering experiences
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
Must demonstrate clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills Must demonstrate effective problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
Must have strong planning and organization skills
Must be adaptable and resultsoriented
Must have demonstrated leadership skills professionalism and customer client focus
Must be willing to perform on-call/emergency support as needed
Must possess and maintain a valid US drivers license with a safe and satisfactory driving history
Desired
B.S. in Electrical Engineering
M.S. in Engineering or MBA
Professional Engineering License
Electrical utility or Power systems experience.
Project management experience.
Electric system outage and contingency planning experience.
Familiarity in reading / understanding electric one line diagrams.
Familiarity with outside plant transmission and distribution electric system assets.
Familiarity with inside plant substation equipment and operations.
Knowledge and understanding in electric distribution / transmission field operations
