Lineage Logistics Class 1 Driver (Nights) in Heywood, United Kingdom

We are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 driver to join our Transport division at Head Office located in Heywood.

Working hours: Monday to Friday night shifts working 50 hours per week with 30 mins for lunch daily

Hourly Rate: £14.50 per hour paid weekly plus £55 weekly allowance

The role

In this role you will complete varied tasks which include:

  • Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation is running smoothly and efficiently.

  • Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy - all daily checks are completed in line with the ‘Daily Vehicle Check Sheet’ and in line with the 'Guide to maintaining road worthiness'. To ensure any vehicle defects are reported.

  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.

  • Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs

  • Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.

  • Drive within tachograph law and driver hour limits.

  • Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle.

  • Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print.

  • All vehicles are to be kept in a clean and presentable condition.

  • Report any accidents as soon as possible, follow compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure.

  • Download your driver tachograph card

  • Work within the guidelines of working time regulations. (Road Transport Directive).

  • Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Transport manager attention if necessary.

  • To ensure that your DCPC periodic training hours are maintained and completed within the five-year period.

  • Clean out the inside of the cab leaving it ready for the next driver.

What we are looking for:

  • Two years Class 1 driving experience & Valid Class 1 license

  • Full valid Class 1 Driving Licence, Digi-Tacho card, DQC card holder and valid Driver CPC

  • Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Numerical and focused on accuracy

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to muck in on tail lift and Pump trucks so must be fit and healthy
