The Attack Disruption team in AT&P (Acute Threat Protection) owns the end-to-end protection strategy of MDE (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint) customers on the organization level, providing a layered approach to active protection through a rapid and automatic response capability preventing threats from spreading, mitigating an ongoing attack and restoring customer premises to a healthy state while preventing an attack from repeating.

Our team is versatile and produces high quality solutions involving creative client and cloud engineering with deep understanding of system internals, we're looking for an experienced engineer with a growth mindset who is excited by new and complex challenges and can flourish in a high-octane team of professionals.

Responsibilities

As an engineer on our team, you will be working on cutting edge technologies to deliver exciting new features that impact and protect millions of users, with cross-team and cross-discipline collaboration (engineering, PM, design, research and data science). You will work closely with experienced engineers and be part of an agile and fast-moving development team - and will have a role in mentoring your more junior peers and helping them succeed. You will be expected to apply a critical view of our infrastructure, technologies and development process, proactively pushing to improve the product and our group.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software and Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in cloud/backend development OR working experience in client development with a preference to a versatile experience (client & cloud).

  • 6+ years of professional experience as a software engineer building large-scale systems.

  • Passionate and collaborative team player with a drive to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.

  • Clear communication skills and demonstrated customer empathy.

  • Ability and passion to learn and use new technologies.

Desired skills:

  • Background in endpoint security and cloud-based applications. 

  • Working knowledge of system internals.

  • Experience with distributed computing platforms for high-scale systems and massive amounts of data (Kubernetes preferred).

  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools (ADO preferred).
