DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Computer Operations Supervisor is the manager of the Automations Unit within the Operations Division of the Infrastructure and Economic Development Delivery Center (PennDOT, DCED, PEMA) IED TSO, located in the Commonwealth Keystone building in Harrisburg. This position requires administrative and technical skills in supervising an EDP unit responsible for various aspects of information technology.

The Unit is responsible for processing all change requests affecting the IBM mainframe and enterprise server production activity using the BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) tool.  This includes coordinating and changing all RACF protected production libraries for program source code, executable load modules, JCL, IBM Tivoli Dynamic Workload Console (TDWC), IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWSC) and related procedures. Reviewing production schedules, abnormal failure reports and maintenance activities to identify procedural, scheduling or equipment changes as necessary are additional duties within this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Computer Operator 2; or Three years of experience in operating computers, including one year in lead work capacity; and graduation from high school, or equivalent certification or formal training. Formal training in electronic data processing may be substituted for non-supervisory experience at the rate of 25 hours for one month, to a maximum of 12 months; or Two years of experience in operating computers, including one year in a supervisory capacity, and an associate degree with major course work in data processing.
