We are currently looking for a Junior Product Engineer, in Guelph Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Review written specifications and process/application parameters

  • Write equipment/component RFQ's to obtain vendor's quotes

  • Select appropriate equipment considering technical and economic issues

  • Interface with product design group to prepare engineering drawings

  • Provide 3D CAD solutions with BOM’s, system requirements and component details

  • Provide technical engineering details to customer

  • Release product to manufacture and support fabrication with assistance when necessary

  • Review system order status in weekly meetings and coordinate action to assure timely shipment

  • Review assembled system and performed inspection

  • Be available to assist system installation and testing as required

  • Submit final documentation to Document Control Clerk, for distribution to customer

  • Provide technical assistance to the field (answer customer and distributor questions regarding engineering details; assist with system implementation and start-up questions)

  • Work with other departments to develop tools such as literature, product pricing and new product design to improve group efficiency and product quality for special projects

  • Develop Operations/Control Narratives and IOM manuals for end user

  • Develop, review, approve 3D designs and detail drawings and BOMs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering

  • 1 years+ of practical experience with exposure to manufacturing environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite, Solidworks 3D CAD, SAP, Windchill

  • Working knowledge of Engineering Contracts, approval and submissions, engineering documentation and other related aspects to custom engineered products

  • Knowledge of Mechatronics Design, Electronic Devices and Digital System Design

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.

  • Working knowledge with electronic instrumentation/sensors & test equipment.

  • 1 year+ of practical experience with exposure to manufacturing environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Mechatronic/mechanical Engineering

  • Experience with Solidworks 3D CAD

  • Understanding of electrical controls and instrumentation for various installations and electrical areas

  • Class 1, Div 1/2 and non-hazardous areas

  • Experience with SAP preferred

  • 1 + years of project engineering experience is preferred
