About the position:

The Spare Parts Specialist is responsible for managing the inventory, procurement, and distribution of spare parts required for the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery. This role ensures that the right parts are available at the right time to minimize downtime and support the efficient operation of the company's assets. The Specialist also conducts research on discontinued parts, replacements, upgrades, and machine improvements to enhance reliability, robustness, and ease of maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of all spare parts inventory.

  • Monitor stock levels and initiate orders to replenish parts as needed.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.

  • Procurement:

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality parts at the most competitive prices.

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for required parts.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues.

  • Distribution and Logistics:

  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of spare parts.

  • Ensure parts are delivered to the appropriate locations in a timely manner.
  • Work with the logistics team to manage shipping and receiving processes.

  • Technical Support:

  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance and repair teams regarding spare parts usage and specifications.

  • Identify and recommend alternative parts or solutions when necessary.
  • Research discontinued parts and identify suitable replacements or upgrades to maintain equipment functionality.
  • Research and recommend ways to upgrade machines to make them more robust, easier to fix, and more reliable.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of parts transactions, including usage, costs, and lead times.

  • Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and procurement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes and systems.

  • Implement best practices for spare parts management.
  • Participate in training and development activities to stay current with industry trends and advancements.

About the schedule:

This position is 1st shift.

About you:

  • Two year technical degree (or equivalent) with a specialized knowledge of math and physics or an engineering discipline
  • 5 or more years of experience are required
  • Extremely comprehensive company related experience. Proficiency within a technical specialty.

It would be great if you had:

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with tools suited to area of specialization, such as: specialized test equipment, personal computer, AutoCAD, PCAD, Pro Engineer Software, gages meters, and/or hand tools.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

About the total compensation package:

Wage - $26.31 - $33.95 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
