City Of Greeley Cross-Connection Survey Technician in Greeley, Colorado

Salary Range: $25.53 - $31.69

Job Summary: The City of Greeley is seeking a Cross-Connection Technician to join the Water and Sewer Department to administer and maintain the federal and state required cross-connection control regulations of the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Colorado Primary Drinking Water Regulations through the City's cross-connection control and backflow prevention program.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills: Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Valid, unrestricted driver's license Current Backflow Tester Certification ASSE or ABPA or ability to obtain certification with in 6 months State of Colorado Distribution I Certification or higher preferred, or distribution system experience may be considered One (1) to three (3) years of experience in at least one the following areas preferred: Basic mechanical experience Backflow assembly repair Water distribution Plumbing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities Knowledge of and familiarity with CDPHE regulations to ensure compliance with related cross connection and backflow assemblies. Ability to be cognizant of details to track and maintain records for CDPHE compliance. Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal. Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), TRAKIT, Cityworks, ARCPro, SwiftComply, and learn and experiment with new software and Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others. Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages. Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies. Ability to deliver a high level of commitment to customer service. Ability to respond to requests in a timely manner. Ability to present oneself professionally in appearance, demeanor, and effort. Ability to effectively collaborate with team members in-person and remotely.

Essential Functions: Monitors the cross-connection software database daily and maintains the key elements of the program database. Enters all new backflow test report results into the database and ensures complete and accurate information is entered. Maintains current list of certified backflow companies, testers, and their testing equipment. Reviews and accepts tester certifications and ensures gauge calibration reports are recorded. Identifies, corrects, removes, or completes data for all backflow assembly records within the exclusive software database. Performs periodic updates for the exclusive Utility Billing software program and downloads into the cross-connection database in relationship with Community Plus database. Ensures all backflow test due notices are printed and mailed timely. Directs site surveys for existing and new non-residential backflow assembly installations to verify test results, that appropriate assemblies are installed for the site's use, and degree of site hazard. Conducts site visits to facilities with no documented backflow assemblies installed to determine, prepare, and administer a plan of compliancy for the state regulations. Identifies and processes the annual notice of the required backflow testing of backflow assemblies documented for the specific site. Monitors the completion of the testing requirement with written documentation, verbal contact, site visits and follow-up notices prior to a shut off of water service until compliancy. Provides customer service for internal and external requests, questions, state requirements, appropriate installations, troubleshooting and database inquiries. Provides assistance between different City departments for the compliancy of city-installed assemblies. Performs backflow assembly t sts for the Water and Sewer Department sites, as requested. Administers and maintains the document retention requirements for state regulations. Organizes, scans, and files the backflow tests, backflow tester certifications, backflow testing equipment certifications, and assembly photographs. Revises or updates the forms of media housing the previous documents to complete the State's retention requirements. Manages the overall administration of cross-connection program. Manages the installation, testing of new or existing backflow assemblies for program compliance and the building permit process. Troubleshoots information for property owners, billing accounts, and site uses. Answers questions and provides information on the requirements of the cross-connection program, our regulatory compliance responsibilities to the state, federal government, and our customers regarding their responsibility is to install, test and maintain backflow assemblies on their property.
