Robert Half Cost Accountant in Gray, Kentucky
Description We are seeking a Cost Accountant to be based in Gray, Kentucky. In this role, you will be responsible for performing cost analyses, preparing budget reports, and creating detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for our organization. You will be working in a dynamic environment, collaborating with all departments, and will be instrumental in assisting in the month-end and year-end closing.
Responsibilities:
• Collect cost information and maintain an up-to-date expenses database
• Construct and manage data accumulation systems
• Determine fixed costs and plan and record variable costs
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and discrepancies
• Prepare and present budgeting reports on a regular basis
• Analyze and report profit margins to improve financial efficiency
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts
• Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions to enhance profitability
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Use accounting software systems to analyze revenues and cost variances Requirements • Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions
• Experience in Budget Processes, Cost Accounting, and Cost Analysis
• Skills to Analyze Revenues, Analyze Variance, and Cost Variance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or related field
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
