DAWSON COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM Advocate in GLENDIVE, Montana

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Effective use of computer, utilizing Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher
  • Ability to maintain standards of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, public officials and general public
  • Personal vehicle, valid Montana Drivers License, and automobile liability insurance
  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Ability to attend on-going trainings on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking
  • Ability to do local travel within Dawson, Prairie, and Wibaux counties
  • Ability to serve on-call with our crisis line
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Human service experience working with domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking victims preferred
  • The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and college course work, preferably a Bachelor's Degree in human services

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Attend domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking training and quarterly volunteer training
  • Participate/facilitate in group projects and collaborations
  • Promote public awareness during domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking awareness months
  • Assist with volunteer coordination and training activities
  • Responsible for DCDV health and county fairs booths in Dawson, Prairie, and Wibaux counties
  • Responsible for tracking data and completing required progress reports
  • Facilitate and/or assist with DCDV support groups
  • Complete client intake, follow-up forms and call sheets for entry in database
  • Perform other relevant duties as the Executive Director may request

Part-time position, working 16 - 24 hours per week.

$14.00 per hour and up to start, dependent on education and experience. Benefits will depend on hours worked per week; vacation, retirement and health insurance allowance may be available.
