POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inventory & Quality Control Supervisor ensures that the products received meet Nestlé's quality standards and other regulatory requirements. They supervise and manage the daily tasks of the inventory and quality control team, ensuring appropriate workloads and maintaining close collaboration with the operations team to address any quality or inventory issues. The supervisor also provides training and supervision to warehouse employees and supports various quality assurance programs and initiatives. They take prompt action to correct and prevent any issues that may arise.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATIONAL TASKS

  • Ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of Quality and Inventory processes and procedures through diligent monitoring.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, colleagues, and support services, to achieve targets and drive success.

  • Communicate standards and processes effectively, providing training to site personnel on inventory and quality programs, as well as sharing best practices.

  • Act as a valuable liaison between local management, third-party warehouses, and corporate teams in quality, finance, and planning, facilitating seamless collaboration.

  • Support corporate and Distribution Center-driven initiatives to contribute to overall organizational goals.

  • Embrace flexibility and take on additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the success of the team and the organization as a whole.

QUALITY

  • Conduct thorough in-house and quality audits aligned with the Nestlé Quality Assurance Program to ensure adherence to the highest quality standards.

  • Maintain compliance with Nestlé Quality Standards and General Instructions, ensuring that all processes and procedures meet the required criteria.

  • Take charge of coordinating product recalls, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and product holds in accordance with Nestlé policies.

  • Manage the processing of Non-Conforming Material, including blocking, unblocking, salvage holds, and other actions as directed by QA-issued COS (Corrective and Preventive Actions), aged stock reports, process donations, and product destruction.

  • Follow up on outstanding quality holds to expedite corrective actions and finalize the appropriate disposition, covering all hold types, miscellaneous receipts, customer returns, aged stock issues, and more.

  • Perform Daily/Weekly/Monthly Quality Management System (QMS) tasks and audits, such as inbound and outbound compliance checks, master sanitation assessments, and temperature monitoring.

  • Maintain compliance with existing quality systems, identify any gaps, and implement necessary corrective actions, particularly regarding seal breaches, housekeeping, sanitation, pest control, and related areas.

  • Undertake or coordinate various QA projects as required, including special re-inspections, sampling, or sorting operations to ensure product quality.

  • Provide assistance during external audits conducted by regulatory bodies such as FDA (Food and Drug Administration), USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), and others.

INVENTORY CONTROL

  • Efficiently resolve discrepancies in order receipts and provide support for order processing in case of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) failures, ensuring smooth operations.

  • Take charge of coordinating the month-end close process, ensuring all customer shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This includes handling various transactions such as O/S/D (Over, Short, and Damaged), returns, hung orders, transfer orders, EDI exceptions, open orders, and pallet/CHEP loads.

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure timely and accurate receipt of customer and STO (Stock Transfer Order) orders into the Warehouse Management System.

  • Coordinate and conduct physical inventory at warehouses, ensuring accurate reconciliation of inventory. Report the results, create action plans for improvement, and maintain lot-level integrity.

  • Champion the development and updating of files and reports, such as the Sync Report, to resolve issues related to batch/lot/pallet/quantity/holds differences or mismatches.

  • Proactively engage in problem-solving by consistently tracking, trending, and analyzing relevant data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, and Word, with additional knowledge of SAP considered a plus.

  • Exceptional customer service and people management skills, fostering positive relationships.

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.

  • Skilled in developing and implementing processes and procedures to enhance operations.

  • Proficient in problem identification, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Capable of managing details in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to work extended and/or flexible hours as needed to provide support, meet deadlines, and ensure adequate coverage.

SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Collaborate with Safety Health and Environmental personnel to ensure compliance with all regulatory and Nestlé guidelines.

EDUCATION:

  • B.S. Degree in Food Science, Quality, Warehouse Management, Supply Chain or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years Supervisory/Leadership experience preferred

  • 3-5 years in CPG or food industry preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 year’s experience in QA/QC and or Inventory Control preferred
