Hanover Community Bank Assistant Branch Manager in Garden City Park, New York

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Branch Manager ensures that the Banks goals and objectives are met and that the Bank's policies, procedures, practices and controls have been implemented and are being adhered to in order to protect the Bank against monetary loss. In conjunction with the Retail Management and other LOB Sales Officers, they will be responsible for the development and execution of strategies to ensure corporate business development objectives and branch goals are met. Manage all branch functions and activities to promote branch growth. Manage and motivate staff to achieve revenue, sales, service and operational goals. Provide direction in the maintenance of operational integrity of the branch. Provide coaching and mentoring in the development of subordinates. Oversee all other Branch Banking Office functions including Facilities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works in conjunction with the Retail Management and other Lines of Business to ensure achievement of goals and administration of the branch, monitoring branch and staff performance to ensure the branch operates in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices and controls. Administers new products and programs, including sales promotion and incentive programs. Conducts performance appraisals, counsels staff, and performs necessary disciplinary actions. Creates, interprets and enforces all policies and procedures. Ensures that adequate security is provided and maintained for the branch employees, customers, cash, negotiable instruments and equipment. Recommends and implements changes in systems and procedures. Discusses and resolves customer complaints, concerns and problems in person, over the telephone and in writing. Opens new accounts and assists customers in processing routine and non-routine transactions. Proactively promotes and sells Bank products and services. Assists in overall attainment of branch sales, service and revenue goals. Cross-sells additional products and services to develop and strengthen customer relationships. Engages in all sales development activities (e.g., telemarketing and sales events) the bank undertakes. Complies with policies, procedures and regulations; and provides outstanding customer service in a safe and sound environment. Assists with the daily opening and closing of the branch. Assists with the daily opening of the branch vault(s). Collaborates with the BSA/Compliance Officer on all aspects of Compliance, BSA and AML monitoring. Conducts branch/departmental staff meetings to discuss bank/branch objectives; establishes priorities and ensures compliance with established policy and procedures. Prepares and reviews a variety of daily, weekly and monthly reports (i.e. potential losses, cash items, sales). Assists with routine internal audits of the branch inclusive of new account verification and review and approval of file maintenances performed by staff, ensuring that adequate audit practices and controls are maintained. Communicates in person, over the telephone and in writing with inter/intra departmental representatives. Working with Branch & Business Development Officer, develops a list of Top Customers (Customers to be in Branch Market). Tracks activities and Results on Branch Activity Reports. Assists customers with routine account related requests such us wire transfers, stop payments, and ATM/Debit Card issues.
