Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Garden City, New York
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-paced team. The specialist will be responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues and generating weekly aging reports in a timely manner. The candidate must have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Post daily deposits and payments to customer accounts.
Process daily invoicing and apply payments received.
Conduct account research and analysis
Prepare and maintain various reports and records related to accounts receivable functions.
Maintain an accurate aging report.
Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments.
Respond to customer inquiries related to accounts and payments.
Send bill reminders and contact clients regarding their account balances.
Collaborate with the sales team to ensure the accuracy of invoices.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledger with the general ledger.
Recommend improvements to accounts receivable processes to increase efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as an accounts receivable specialist or role in similar capacity.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel.
Knowledge of accounting software and databases.
Understanding of billing and financial concepts.
Excellent time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
