This role provides comprehensive academic and study abroad advising for undergraduate students interested in both HSB and non-HSB international programs. Your role is crucial in supporting students' academic and professional growth through international experiences.

Key Functions and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

Study Abroad Advising

  • Provides holistic advising for all HSB and non-HSB international programs through in-person and electronic communication.

  • Assists students in selecting study abroad programs to ensure choices align with their academic and professional goals.

  • Informs students regarding HSB, University of Florida International Center (UFIC), and program partners’ application deadlines, policies, and procedures.

  • Provides personalized guidance to students throughout their study abroad application and visa processes.

  • Collaborates with program partners and University of Florida International Center (UFIC) to address student questions and concerns.

  • Supports students during critical or urgent situations using university and partner resources abroad.

Program Administration

  • Communicates transfer credit policies to students.

  • Collaborates with international partners, UFIC, and related campus partners to facilitate timely transfer of academic credits across all HSB sponsored programs.

  • Review degree audits for students and make necessary adjustments and/or corrections regarding substituted courses and requirement waivers.

  • Co-hosting and presenting at pre-departure meetings, study abroad rewind meetings, and other IP events and functions for future, current, and past international education participants.

  • Represents HSB at Study Abroad Fairs, Business Bashes, and related events and conferences.

Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Contributes to the overall strategic planning of the International Program Office.

  • Recommends creative student advising pathways to inspire students’ participation in international programs.

Additional Duties

  • Participates in University Commencement Services and College Commencement Ceremonies.

  • Volunteers in review committees for international scholarships.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule.

  • Participation in evening or weekend events as required.

  • International Travel as needed.

Expected Salary:

$45,000- $55,000; Commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in education, counseling, higher education, international education, or a related field and one year of relevant experience ; or a bachelor’s degree in related field with three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and one year of full-time experience.

  • Previous experience in student advising or study abroad advising.

  • Knowledge of business education.

  • Experience with Terra Dotta, the software used by the International Center and other partners.

  • Familiarity with Campus Solutions (COMPASS), UF’s system for registration and academic advisement.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various social media platforms.
