Description

Position Summary:

Oversee all GBDC (Great Bear Distribution Center) technical services provided by outside vendors and contractors, organize and plan work collectively with the GBDC Director of Warehouse and Distribution, MKC Facilities Manager and Supervisor where appropriate. Participate in strategic planning for project and staffing needs in the warehouse environment. While supporting the daily/weekly/monthly maintenance needs for the warehouse and its employees.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

  • 30% Troubleshoot, repair HVAC, manufacturing equipment, utilities, interior and exterior lighting, as well as any broader warehouse facility's needs.
  • 20% Schedule and prioritize daily work tasks utilizing the FMX maintenance work request system.
  • 15% Stay informed on all safety related requirements for the warehouse and building maintenance needs. Ensure alignment with Mackenzie Childs Safety protocols and partner with MKC safety committee on any current or potential identified risks and ensure communication with the leadership team to address.
  • 15% Support all facility-related needs related to larger Holiday and Barn Sale fulfillment events.
  • 15% Oversee outside services regarding grounds, waste/recyclables and roofing etc.
  • 5% Participate in energy reduction, electric and gas and assessments for the site to help reduce overall cost and consumption.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This is a Lead Maintenance position, supported and directed by our Director of Warehouse Operations and in partnership with our MKC Facilities Manager and Supervisor in our corporate Aurora location.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Vocational or Technical training (HVAC/R) preferred.
  • EPA Section 608 desired
  • 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience within a diverse team and skillset required.

Special Requirements:

  • Driver's License
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Support of yearly company special events (Barn Sale, Artisan Festival and Warehouse Sales)

  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a balance of accountability and engagement with staff in a diverse working environment.
  • Ability to identify and communicate safety related issues with the staff and the leadership team.

Equipment Used:

Computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, calculator, hand tools, power tools, forklift, pallet jack and grinder.

Computer Software: (Basic) - Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, NetSuite and MKC CMMS

Safety: Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, Gloves and ability to pass a physical exam for a respirator

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.
  • High mental and visual attention required for planning difficult work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product.
  • Exerts more than 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Environmental Conditions:

The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions including temperature changes, noise, and moving mechanical parts.
