Basic Job Functions:
Leadership role in promoting Nucors mission ensuring that safety is instilled as a value with a strong focus on quality and environmental stewardship. Member of the NS leadership team responsible for successfully leading long term profitable contributions to Nucor
Responsible for the divisions environmental strategy with a focus on building relationships with operations/ maintenance/ administrative departments and continuous cost reduction. Support Nucors strategy in growing enterprise sustainability initiatives
Solid understanding of environmental compliance, permitting and serve as a liaison for State and Federal environmental agencies
Identify and monitor environmental regulatory changes in that could affect the companys operations and implement appropriate engagement and/or mitigation strategies
Oversees periodic review and revision of environmental management systems, standards, and procedures
Operational oversight of pollution control equipment (i.e. scrubbers, baghouses, etc.), wastewater treatment plants, and water systems
Advises leadership team on Environmental objectives, targets, and metrics
Support Political and Community Outreach

Minimum Qualifications:
This position is a developmental position for future Environmental Managers. This individual must be pursuing a career path toward environmental management and be willing to relocate for future advancement positions within Nucor.
3 years of environmental compliance experience
3 years of environmental leadership experience including experience managing teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous steelmaking or heavy industry environmental compliance experience including permitting.
ISO 14001 or environmental management system experience
4-year degree in engineering or related environmental, safety or health field.
Registered environmental credentials and/or professional engineering license.
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
