ManTech Asset Management Specialist (Hybrid) in Frederick, Maryland

ManTech is seeking an Asset Management Specialist to support a pivotal Defense Health Agency (DHA) program within our Health Portfolio. This role serves as a member supporting the entire program reporting to the Program Manager. The Asset Management Specialist maintains the Hardware and Software Lists, and provides analysis and reporting on all program assets (e.g., servers, equipment), installed software, and tracking end-of-life/end-of-support (EOL/EOS).

The program is based in Fort Detrick, Maryland. This is a hybrid position - working on-site three days per week. Expanded telework options may be available depending on location or on a case-by-case basis .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the program Hardware List:

  • Act as the central POC for any additions, removals, or specification changes for program assets

  • Submit tickets to all affected teams providing notification whenever there are changes to the hardware list to ensure baseline documentation is updated

  • Periodically verify all program assets are covered within the security scanning tool (ACAS: Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) and notify the Cyber team of any missing assets that need to be added

  • Update the master Hardware List and post updates to a central location for team access

  • Maintain an audit of changes to the Hardware List

  • Maintain the program Software List:

  • Routinely coordinate with the team for software changes that need to be reflected in the installed software list

  • Routinely update software information for all program assets using ACAS and Trellix systems, as well as coordination with administrators, to ensure all software and their latest versions are reflected in the list

  • Update the master Software List and post updates to a central location for team access

  • Research EOL/EOS dates for all software and capture these dates for tracking/planning

  • Assist the team with planning for software updates/replacement before EOL/EOS expiration

  • Maintain an audit of changes to the Software List​

  • Maintain EOL/EOS information for program hardware and software:

  • Maintain a reference list of all software used on the program along with their versions

  • Identify and track the EOL/EOS dates for software

  • Notify the team when software is coming due for EOL/EOS and ensure the team is working towards remediation prior to software expiration

  • Provide traceability to remediation artifacts/schedules for software that is planned for update/replacement

  • Other

  • Generate summary information, to include charts, using asset management information being maintained

  • Provide routine updates to leadership on the status of hardware

  • Submit baselined hardware and software lists to other groups, such as Cyber, as requested to support ongoing program efforts such as ATO accreditations and Cyber Risk Assessments

  • Periodically meet with the Architecture team to ensure program architecture diagrams align with the hardware and software lists

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Two additional years of relevant experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic knowledge of common hardware and software.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing assets for a large program

  • Developed processes that ensured accurate, complete, and quality outcomes

  • Experience searching and extracting data from ACAS to pull the latest hardware/software information

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Familiarity with ALM tools such as Atlassian Jira/Confluence and Serena Business Manager (SBM)

  • Project Experience: Experience working in an Agile environment, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain Public Trust Suitability. Will be subject to a Tier 3 investigation for CAC eligibility only.

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • The person in this position will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
