DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The role involves supporting Maintenance Repairman 2s by carrying out a range of tasks related to repairing and maintaining structures, bridges, equipment, and machinery. This includes tasks such as building forms, pouring concrete, finishing surfaces, painting, and performing plumbing or electrical work to ensure the longevity of these structures. Additionally, responsibilities may include repairing or replacing lights, plumbing, valves, switches, broken glass, servicing clogged plumbing, replacing doors, and making interior alterations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must posses two years or more of experience performing general maintenance and repair tasks such as cleaning filters, replacing seals/gaskets, oiling/greasing tools and equipment; making minor repairs to vehicles, tractors, lawn mowers, chain saws, leaf blowers, etc.; adjusting building systems using welders, drills, power saws, wrenches, channel locks, ratchet sets, and related mechanical tools and equipment.
  • You must posses two or more years experience following general safety guidelines for the trade assigned by using appropriate safety and protective equipment; performing pre- and post- operation checks of equipment to ensure safe operation and minimize wear of equipment and tools; reporting all workplace injuries or incidents to the appropriate authority correcting any safety hazards in the work area and reporting them to the supervisor; and storing all tools and materials in accordance with manufacturer recommendations to protect from unnecessary damage.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience performing carpentry tasks such as installing and repairing drywall, doors, door frames, and furniture; fabricates, installs, and repairs counters, shelves, and partitions; builds and removes forms; constructs and repairs benches, retaining walls, fences, or gates; repairs various types of roofing and gutters using sanders, joiners, power saws, planers, drills, air guns, hammers, and related power and hand tools.
  • Experience performing plumbing and heating tasks such as installing and maintaining steam lines, valves, toilets, sinks, urinals, showers, and steam heating and cooking equipment; sewer and storm drains, culverts, etc.; measuring, cutting, threading, soldering, and fitting steel, iron, copper, and PVC and PEX pipe using pipe cutters, drills, power saws, soldering tools, wrenches, channel locks, screwdrivers, and related tools and equipment.
  • Experience performing electrical tasks uch as installing electrical circuits, receptacles, switches, ceiling fans, and indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures; and connects equipment such as large power tools, dishwasher, space heaters, refrigeration equipment, pumps, and office equipment by using the correct size and type of wire, fixture, and conduit/armored cable using screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, pipe cutters/benders, drills, and related tools and equipment.
