Position Summary:
The SHOP SUPERVISOR is accountable for interfacing with Operations to understand and manage their needs within Shop constraints and for financial and technical performance of the Shops.
The SHOP SUPERVISOR functions effectively like a Service Manager from a dealership servicing and managing internal clients from Operations.
The SHOP SUPERVISOR is responsible for directing and coordinating the safe maintenance of all mobile equipment, coordinating daily activities, planning for annual budgeting, and shop cost management against budget at multiple physical shop locations.
The Shop Supervisor is responsible for safety behavior and performance in the Shops.
Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to interface with Operations leaders (Construction, RMC, Aggregates) for repair and maintenance prioritization and scheduling, organizing daily shop activities and priorities, and planning for and rostering mechanic coverage on remote projects and/or job sites to support Operations. The Shop Supervisor is responsible for continuous development in both shop processes, 6S activities, and mechanic training and career planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- This includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Ensure compliance to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Maintain shop, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, employee time posting, parts orders, and customer follow up.
• Manage day to day operations including staff and schedules to ensure timely repair progression.
• Set up and implement preventative / proactive maintenance program.
• Budget and plan for maintenance activities including staff, parts, schedule, and equipment.
• Manage procurement of parts, inventory, and fuel management through purchase order system (JDE).
• Work as part of leadership team to communicate critical decisions with integrity, quality, urgency, and teamwork.
• Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
• Interview, select, train, discipline and terminate employees as needed.
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.

Strong computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office programs and Oracle JDE
Travel is expected. Estimated 25 to 50% of the time
Requirements:
Five (5) years’ previous experience in Manufacturing and/or Facility maintenance or Operations role.
Three (3) years experience in facility or construction project management.
Microsoft Suite experience, Word, Excel, PowerPoint to prepare reports and review documents
Oracle JDE experience is an asset
Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Valid class 5 driver’s license
