JOB TITLE: Veterans Service Officer
QUALIFICATIONS Such County Veterans Service Officer or assistant at the time of appointment, shall be a resident of the state, shall have served in the United States Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, or an auxiliary branch thereof and shall have been honorably discharged there from or shall be an officer released from active duty with the armed forces and placed on inactive duty the
EDUCATION:
For Part Time Positions: A high school diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D.), one year adult counseling, office management, human services, supervision, law enforcement, health services or other equivalent experience in direct public contact with adults. (Experience in Veterans programs is preferred .)
WAGE: $15/Hr
DAYS/HRS: Part time with the potential for Full-time
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The primary duty of the County Veterans Service Officer shall be to assist any resident of the State of Colorado who is a veteran or any other person who is entitled or potentially entitled to any right or benefit under Federal or State Laws by virtue of their own veteran status or the veteran status of another person.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
It is the duty of the Veterans Service Officer and assistant to assist residents of the State of Colorado who served honorably in the United States Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, Marine corps, or any other armed service of the United States, or the surviving spouse, administrator, executor, guardian, conservator, or heir of any such veteran, or any other person who may have proper claim, by the filing of claims for insurance, pensions, compensation for disability, hospitalization, vocational training, or any other benefits which such person may be or may have been entitled to receive under the laws of the United States or the State of Colorado by reason of such service. Such appointments shall be for the term HOURS: Part Time, days and hours to be arranged with employer
