Viaero Wireless OSP Fiber Field Technician in Fort Morgan, Colorado

JOB TITLE: OSP Fiber Field Technician

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 year of age, and have ability to pass MVR check, criminal background check and substance screening. Previous experience inspecting OSP (outside plant construction) preferred. Fiber optic or construction experience and/or training preferred Ability to effectively operate IPad & laptop to fulfill the requirements of the position Ability to access and utilize web-based applications as required by the company for time reporting, expense reimbursement and required training Ability to effectively utilize and operate MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Able to lift up to 100 pounds and work outside in all kinds of weather. Able to perform manual tasks requiring frequent walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, digging, pushing and pulling Able to travel outside of the region for work, including overnight stays as needed.

WAGE: $24 - $27/hr

Days/HRS: Primarily M-F Daytime Full time perm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Learn and perform Utility Locating on areas of the existing network as needed by Utility Locate notifications. Conduct conflict Standby's as required for contractors excavating near existing areas of the network.

Perform inspection of underground placement and associated construction activities for any assigned OSP project. Manage and Supervise contractors while in the construction phases.

Ensure compliance & adherence to project safety, permitting project requirements and specifications.

Coordinate material delivery and maintain project documentation as required.

Observe construction crew activities and inspect the workmanship of construction as it pertains to compliance of the Plans & Specifications. Coordinate and document with the subcontractor directional drill bore profiles.

Create the redline construction drawings where Inspection has been observed and record the redline units and routing; keeping redline corrections of these documents current.

Maintain required project units, inspection forms and provide results along with photos to the Project Manager weekly.

Assist in the fiber installation and splicing of Fiber Optic cables and network facilities
