Army Installation Management Command Recreation Aid (Trainee-Lifeguard) NF-01 in Fort Liberty, North Carolina

Summary This announcement will be used to train applicants for Lifeguard certification. Upon certification, Lifeguards may fill vacancies at multiple aquatics facilities, to include Smith Lake Recreation Area on Fort Liberty, NC. Army NAF pay setting rules apply to this vacancy. Responsibilities This is a training position for a certified Lifeguard. Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely reviewed/monitored and detailed guidance provided. Must participate in all required training (emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations). Mandatory certifications must be complete within 30 calendar days of employment. Upon completion of mandatory certifications, the incumbent will be noncompetitively reassigned to Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), PD #3206, responsible for lifeguarding guest in attendance at an assigned aquatic facility. Training: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, ELLIS); American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must be able to swim and participate in the lifeguard certifications.
