Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervises a variety of routine, unskilled and semi-skilled custodial/cleaning work while maintaining the assigned dining facility to contract standards within a Dining Facility Attendant only facility.

  • Able to enforce responsibilities upon the dining facility attendants assigned; makes corrections when needed; able to follow simple oral and written instructions.

  • Monitors and controls the hours worked by each attendant assigned; works with the Area Manager on scheduling of personnel. Works side by side, trains, instructs, demonstrates, monitors and evaluates dining facility attendant staff in correct and sanitary procedures and their daily job duties. Plans, schedules and supervises the work of a small staff.

  • Maintains comprehensive communication with the DFA Trainer on the development and success of employees being trained.

  • Maintains cleanliness of facilities, equipment, utensils, work areas, etc., including mopping floors, stripping and waxing; performs a variety of cleaning and custodial work.

  • Washes and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils; loads and unloads dishes from dishwasher; operates and cleans dishwasher machines and other mechanical cleaning equipment.

  • Ensures compliance with all cleaning methods using specified materials and equipment. Wears protective gear (safety glasses, face masks, and rubber gloves) when working with chemicals.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees, co-workers, supervisors, and members of the military armed forces regardless of race, color, creed, religion, marital status, sex, age, or physical/mental disability.

  • Complete cleaning tasks using developed cleaning SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) including designated processes, materials and equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Grade I Shift Leaders must have ninety (90) days of prior employment with a predecessor or current contractor.

  • Ability to pass a ServSafe exam if required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge in the principles and practices of sanitation and personal hygiene as applied in food preparation and services.

  • Possess thorough knowledge of procedures for safe handling of all chemicals related to job. Thoroughly knowledgeable of SDS.

  • Possess knowledge of employee motivation, leadership, and supervision techniques. Plan, schedule and supervise the work of a small staff.

  • Work for long periods of time while standing and occasionally working under conditions of high temperature.

  • Follow company safety procedures and standards to insure a safe working environment for oneself, co-workers,

  • customers, and property.

  • Possess the skills in the operation of listed tools and equipment.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and supervise the completion of daily required activities according to work schedule.

  • Ability to climb, bend, squat, lift and carry objects ranging from 10-60 pounds. Occasionally push objects up to 100 pounds; prolong walking up to 90%.

  • Ability to assist and communicate with others as needed and establish effective working relationships with staff and Military Personnel.

Working Condition

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.

  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.

  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.

  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
