Description
SAIC is seeking a Technical Writer:
This is a full-time position. This is a dynamic position working with senior leaders in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and emerging threats mission.
The position requires the candidate to have:
The ability to write and edit strategic-level planning documents.
The ability to research, organize, analyze, and summarize data; conduct literature searches; develop preliminary findings, conclusions, and recommendations; and draft written reports and summaries on a range of WMD and emerging threat topics. The candidate must have:
Impeccable writing skills and be comfortable interacting with experienced technical staff, management, and government clients.
Other duties include:
Edit products aimed at the internal DTRA workforce and external customers (including the public) to ensure team-written products have consistent voice, tone, and structure.
Review products to ensure comprehension at a non-expert level.
Coordinate rewrites and adjustments amongst primary authors.
Develop executive summaries from final reports on strategic-level guidance documents.
Adhere to writing style guide, established terminology, and ensure consistent messaging across a range of publications.
Work will be conducted on the government site at FT Belvoir, VA.
Qualifications
Required Education : BA/BS degree in a related field and 6 years of related experience; Masters and 4 years of experience.
Security Clearance: SECRET clearance is required. All applicants must be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Required Skills:
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working on an editorial staff at some level.
Proficient research and analytical skills.
Experience in MS Office Suite.

Military experience, or experience with contracting or the federal government a plus.
Experience with Combating WMD activities (DoD, DOS, IC, etc.).
Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
