Join the Brook Hill Familyworking with up to 9 at-risk girls in an experiential learning environment, who cannot function in a regular school setting due to trauma. The students are enrolled in Virtual VA - you are to monitor and tutor when needed, communicate with parents and their base school, and provide enrichment activities when they have down time. Volunteer teachers are available to supplement as tutors for subjects out of your scope of practice. The school functionsmuch like a one-room schoolhouse, with youth grades 9 - 12. Hours are 8:30 - 2pm, with the students receivingequine therapy by certified staffafter theiracademicday, working on resilience and a work ethic. This job is perfect for someone who is flexible andwants to be able to teach without all of the paperwork andstress of a normal school setting, try out new teaching methods, and really make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth. Ideal for someone whowants to work while their own children are at school. The job follows the school calendar. To date, 100% of the youth have graduated from high school, with 7 students completing a PHD! Must be a licensed educator.
