Overview ... The JBT Purchasing Department is a fast-paced environment that requires extreme attention to detail, organization, and teamwork. The Buyer/Planner position is a critical function that assures quality material and products are available when needed to manufacture industrial food processing equipment for our customers worldwide. This is a Temporary Role for up to 6 months, without the possibility of extension. The Opportunity ... Source new and existing components and services for manufacturing of industrial machinery. Negotiate prices with vendors. Develop relationships with vendors to ensure their performance meets our requierments in the areas of quality, delivery, and documentation accuracy. Communicate and resolve material non-conformances. Manage inventory by analyzing stock and disposing of excess and obsolete inventory. Support the manufacturing process to help improve product quality, manufacturing methods, and material flow. Why work at JBT ... Mandatory : 2-3 years in a production planning/purchasing position. Complete working knowledge of fully integrated business systems. Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of JD Edwards business systems *New college graduates with a BS degree in related field w/limited skills and experience will be considered for this position. Preferred Requirements: APICS or CPM Certified 3-4 years experience in a planning/purchasing position.
