SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our team. This position requires a strong technical background in system administration, with a focus on network management, server administration, and virtualization. The ideal candidate will have at least an associate's degree in a relevant field or 3 years of relevant experience, with preferred expertise in Network Administration, Microsoft Server environments (2016-2022), VMWare vSphere, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Database Administration, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and Zerto disaster recovery solutions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer and maintain servers, networks, and storage systems in a multi-site environment, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Manage and support Microsoft Server 2016-2022 installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365, ensuring seamless access, security, and collaboration across the organization.
  • Configure, monitor, and support VMWare vSphere for virtual machine management and resource optimization.
  • Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and permissions.
  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPO) to enforce security settings and policies across the network.
  • Assist in database administration tasks, including installation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee and manage Storage Area Network (SAN) systems to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans by supporting Zerto or similar backup and replication technologies.
  • Perform regular system backups, updates, and patches to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Provide technical support to users and other IT staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve any issues that may arise, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of network and system upgrades or new technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR 3+ years of relevant experience in system administration or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience with Network Administration, Microsoft Server 2016-2022, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Database Administration, SAN management, and Zerto disaster recovery solutions.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and networking protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, creating, deploying, and managing virtual machines.
  • Solid understanding of network architecture and troubleshooting (including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and TCP/IP).
  • Strong experience with backup and recovery technologies, preferably Zerto.
  • Familiarity with database administration (SQL, MySQL, etc.) and SAN solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical users.

Required Skills and/or Experience.

  • An associate degree (2-years) in a technical field including computer systems and network Bachelors Preferred.
  • IT experience within a Transportation/Manufacturing preferred
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  • CompTIA Network+ or similar network certifications.
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar certification
