Vistra Plant Supervisor EI&C Maintenance - Coleto Creek in Fannin, Texas

Job Summary

The Plant Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of Luminant Power Generating Stations. The position may require some travel in the support of other Luminant Power Generating Stations.

Supervise Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Technicians at a coal fired power plant.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supporting all aspects of the day–to-day operation and maintenance of a generating station

  • Maintains all plant instrumentation and controls in optimum condition to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment.

  • Ensure and monitor safety and environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, administrative and procedural compliance, and documentation

  • Supervises, schedules, and assigns multi-skilled Electrical, Instrument and Controls technicians considering priorities as set by Operations and/ or unit availability/ reliability.

  • Teams with peers in the plant, plan and conduct meetings with maintenance personnel, attend and participate in meetings with management personnel to ensure the maintenance of productive relationships where the incumbent interfaces as client or service provider.

  • Provides troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of unit anomalies to ensure acceptable plant process control and efficiency.

  • Specify/purchase parts and material for jobs ensuring all meet proper standard/ specifications. Create/update Preventative

  • Maintenance, Standard Work Estimates and part lists in the MAXIMO program

  • Assists in the development and direct implementation of the EI&C Group annual budget to ensure meeting stated plant goals and objectives.

  • Performs employee performance appraisals and development to ensure a highly skilled technician work force.

  • Provides 24 hour a day on-call coverage to ensure orderly conduct of business.

  • Evaluates performance of and recommends upgrades to new and existing control systems in the plant to provide improvements and upgrades that enhance plant performance.

  • Procedure and approval process, managing contractors, project support and completion

  • Manage NERC/CIP processes

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • 5-7 years of power generation plant experience

  • Candidate must be experienced in using Maximo for planning work, creating purchase requests, and creating job plans

Preferred Experience:

Experience with operations and maintenance at a coal fired power plant, particularly on a unit with a drum boiler

Technical background or Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control background is a plus

Power generation plant supervision, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills Good computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook

Experience in computer maintenance management systems and an understanding of PMMS and/or Maximo programs
