Fortive Corporation Inventory Controller in Fairport, New York

Your Impact

This position reports directly to Materials Manager and is responsible for inventory accuracy and control. Manages site inventory level efficiently and collaborates with internal partners to deliver joint improvements in inventory while minimizing risks to productions. Develops replenishment strategies to minimize excess inventory, improve inventory turn-over and support customer on-time delivery. Links operational KPI plans and daily management activities to improve overall inventory performance. Directs communications of inventory strategy and results with key Business Leaders.

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies:

  • Controls stocking levels to achieve inventory turn-over targets.

  • Manages material scrap to identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve supplier quality and parts availability in the cell.

  • Proactively identifies threats to inventory accuracy and builds solutions to avoid future discrepancies.

  • Provides guidance for maintaining good inventory habits throughout the facility

  • Performs inventory reconciliations

  • Assists plant-wide physical inventories and cycle counts (preparation and execution)

  • Manages excess and obsolescence reserve items

  • Provides inventory and Kanban replenishment training

  • Monitors and resolves negative on-hand inventory issues

  • Controls MRR Quality area inventory

  • Leads and participates in Kaizens

  • Supports Kaizen events on inventory-related deliverables

  • Trains production associates in Kanban and material replenishment systems

  • Prepares inventory analysis as needed utilizing PSP process and presents results and recommendations to management

  • Prepares daily ad-hoc reports

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience managing inventory and replenishment systems in manufacturing environment.

  • Balanced knowledge in production and business environments with ability to communicate effectively in both areas.

  • Four (4) year degree preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to interface with cross-functional teams at a variety of levels, including senior management.

  • Analytical skills and flexibility to simplify complex situations, identify key issues, and solve various problems.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 54,100.00 - 100,500.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
