Kuehne+Nagel Area Manager (shift leader) in Eskilstuna, Sweden

Step into a pivotal role as an Area Manager (Shift Leader) and lead our production logistics and warehouse operations to excellence. We are looking for a dedicated leader to take the helm and drive performance in a key area.

Your Role

As an Area Manager (Shift Leader), you will be responsible for the overall performance of the specified production logistics and area. You will plan, organize, staff, direct, and control all production logistics and warehouse activities within your area of responsibility. Additionally, you will oversee the selection, professional development, and motivation of all related employees, ensuring that key performance indicators are met or exceeded. You will be accountable for achieving prescribed company objectives concerning cost, productivity, customer service, and profit.

Your Responsibilities

  • Review work forecasts to determine daily productivity requirements and meet building objectives;

  • Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor and ensure an efficient shift while meeting all goals;

  • Support all safety programs and QSHE compliance to maintain a safe work environment for all associates;

  • Work towards the achievement of contractual KPIs;

  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and utilize Lean tools;

  • Ensure proper training for staff and address their needs to keep them focused on their jobs;

  • Supervise daily operations, organize, coordinate, and optimize resource usage to handle assignments effectively;

  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to allocate appropriate resources, qualifications, structure, and certifications to meet current and future client needs.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field;

  • 2-5 years of experience in contract logistics and warehousing;

  • Leadership experience in a blue-collar environment;

  • Strong project management skills;

  • Proficiency in local labor laws and safety compliance;

  • Advanced English and Swedish proficiency;

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking;

  • Ability to manage a diverse workforce, including outsourced employees.

  • Other Requirements: Shift work is required; Ability to travel as needed; Driver's license may be required
