SNOW COLLEGE Nail Technology Instructor in EPHRAIM, Utah

Description

The Nail Technician Instructor will be responsible for providing technical instruction for students enrolled in the Nail Technology program on the Ephraim campus. Course content areas include: nail care, manicure, pedicure, acrylic, gel, fiberglass and all related theory topics required to obtain a state license. Additional responsibilities include front desk operations, verifying student competencies through different assessment techniques. student advisement and retention, maintaining student records, keeping track of student hours. and maintaining contact with area employers. This position falls under the direction of the Snow College Services Technology Chair.

Qualifications

1.  High school diploma or equivalent.  2. Current Nail license and a Nail Instructors license required.  3. Minimum of one year of documented practical nail experience required.  4. Preference will be given to those individuals who have salon business/teaching experience.  5. Familiar with Microsoft word, Canvas, Milady (CIMA) program, email and can operate a Windows-based personal computer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  1.  Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand long periods, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 20 lbs.) when doing inventory or receiving supplies.  2. Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., clippers, electric nail files, cleaning Chemicals, etc. Additional Information Working Hours: Up to 29 hours per week. 

Major Responsibilities/Duties

1.  Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean and productive learning environment.  2. Administer and correct tests and assessments; enter service sheets, work sheets and any other required class assignments into canvas courses.  3. Be a positive influence to the students in helping students achieve educational goals.  4. Assist students with applicable industry or state certifications/licenses.  5. Develop annual professional development plan and participate in professional development activities.  6. Motivate and advise students in the areas of appropriate work behavior, training, and study habits.  7.  Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits.  8. Support programmatic and College marketing activities.  9. Work cooperatively within the College community.  10.Control and monitor the proper use of equipment and supplies.  11. Monitor taking appointments from the public and be willing to teach, train, and assist students who are working on public.  12.The incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned 13. Work closely and in conjunction with the nail technology program on the Richfield Campus.
