Description
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support a manufacturing facility in Schaumburg, IL. This is a hands-on role that requires a well-rounded HR professional who can work independently and manage all aspects of human resources at the site. The ideal candidate will have strong employee relations skills, a solid understanding of HR policies and compliance, and the ability to engage effectively with employees across all levels. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, PTO and a 401(k) plan with company match. Responsibilities:
Act as the primary HR contact on-site, supporting employees with HR-related inquiries and ensuring strong engagement across the workforce
Manage the onboarding process from start to finish, including offer letter preparation, new hire orientation, I-9 verification, and documentation coordination
Oversee compliance-related initiatives by tracking required training, professional certifications, and workplace safety programs
Administer employee benefits, assisting with enrollments, changes, leave management, and employee communications
Handle employee relations matters, such as addressing concerns, conducting investigations, and assisting with performance management and disciplinary processes
Collaborate with corporate HR and payroll teams to process personnel changes, including hiring, terminations, salary adjustments, and promotions
Facilitate compensation and job evaluation processes, including market analysis, salary structure recommendations, and pay adjustments
Manage workers’ compensation claims, disability cases, and unemployment requests, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to policies
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
At least 3 years of HR generalist experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and compliance regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with employees at all levels
Capable of working independently and making informed decisions in a fast-paced setting
