DIRECTV Director, IT Software Engineering in El Segundo, California
DIRECTV is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead a hybrid team of internal and outsourced software development resources. This role primarily supports a number of critical systems, including our Financial, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management systems. The Director will report into the Information Technology (IT) Delivery organization, which is broadly responsible for technical delivery of the systems that support DIRECTV’s customers, partners, and employees.
DIRECTV is investing heavily in technology transformation, modernizing our applications, and building independence from shared systems. This role is an important leadership position that will ensure both continuity of service for our existing technology stack and also influence the direction we take in the future. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing hybrid internal and outsource software delivery teams in a virtual environment, and a track record of success in doing so.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Financial and Procurement corporate systems.
Manage technical product management, development, and operations for critical corporate systems that support Finance operations, procurement, and supply chain management.
Manage system integrations with other modules and third-party applications.
Ensure the integrity, security, and reliability of financial data and systems.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements, and internal controls.
Ensure role-based access control is properly configured to limit access based on job roles.
Manage user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and periodic access reviews.
Monitor privileged access and ensure segregation of duties (SoD) is enforced.
Manage budgets and resources associated with the delivery of this function.
Lead enhancing work for the in-scope platforms (e.g. Oracle Financials, supply chain management platform, etc.); identify and resolve risks and roadblocks; rally a team to peak performance.
Develop technical roadmaps and strategies in partnership with business and other IT stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between Finance, IT, and other departments to ensure system alignment with business objectives
What you’ll need to be successful:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
5 – 7 years of software delivery experience in a 24/7 environment, supporting finance operations and procurement teams.
Expertise in Oracle Financial Modules (GL, AP, PA, FA, ARCS, EDMCS, etc.).
Experience in security management, preferably in Oracle applications.
Familiarity with security tools such as Oracle Identity Management, Oracle Risk Management Cloud, or similar platforms.
Experience with both custom-developed applications (e.g., Java) and legacy package applications (e.g., Siebel).
Experience with integration tools and middleware solutions.
Experience in Agile and/or ITIL methodologies.
Experience with networking and data center infrastructure.
Experience with incident management processes.
Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
A bias for action and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Independent problem solver with a customer- and client-focused approach.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $154,850 - $281,060
Low (N1): $154,850 - $232,180
Mid (N2): $163,000 - $244,400
High (N3): $179,300 - $268,840
Top (N4): $187,450 - $281,060
