A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a skilled Systems/Electrical/Electronic Engineer with experience in supporting and maintaining radar systems to join our ASR-9 group. Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) is a terminal radar. The ASR-9 is a non-cooperative (primary) surveillance radar system that provides aircraft position and weather information to automation systems for air traffic controllers in terminal airspace.Essential Job Functions:Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of radar systems and associated components.Conduct system upgrades, modifications and calibration activities to improve performance and meet operational requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to address technical issues and implement solutions.Develop and maintain technical documentation, including maintenance procedures and system configurations.Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for electrical systems.Participate in field tests, data analysis and performance evaluations of radar systems.Participate in prototype testing, validation and troubleshooting efforts.Troubleshoot, analyze and determine operational issues and recommend solutions.Direct and coordinate with outside vendors to manufacture prototypes and production units including development of manufacturing specifications.Provide engineering support to field personnel to include remote (e.g. email, phone or on-site.)In this position, travel is not a priority however availability with a short notice to do so, is required.Other Job Functions:Provide authoritative leadership and technical advice to other members of the team.Participate and lead technical interchange meetings.Conduct or participate in formal and informal reviews at predetermined points throughout the development life cycle.Provide technical guidance and participation in process improvement.Communicate project status to program management including cost, schedule and deliverables.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required:Knowledge of test equipment including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator and logic analyzer.Proficiency in analysis of existing requirements, testing and compliance procedures/documents.Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit theory, power systems and electromagnetic compatibility.Experience with hardware design, PCB layout and schematic capture.Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to work environments.Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.Preferred:Understanding of radar principles, signal processing and RF electronics.Proficiency in radar system testing and troubleshooting techniques.Experience with radar system simulation tools and software (e.g., AutoCad, 3D Printer, Altium).Familiarity with radar system components, including transmitters, receivers, antennas and signal processors.Knowledge of radar system integration, installation and field-testing procedures.Education:Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with 7 years of related work experience in the specific engineering principle ORMaster's degree in Engineering with 5 years related work experience in the specific engineering principle.Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must.
