Responsibilities
Manage the month end and quarter end functions – approval of journal entries, interfaces, and reconciliations ensuring timelines are met
Support operations- attending meetings with management of various departments and provide guidance on accounting for inventory including cost factors and adders.
Hire, train and develop new Inventory Accounting team members; mentor staff and effectively manage employee performance, including conducting performance appraisals
Special projects – participate in system enhancements projects and projects to correct system errors or other new corporate initiatives
Assist with the preparation of Audit working papers, schedules and meet with auditors
Focus on process improvement to meet and exceed business expectations
Document, identify business risks and internal controls
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Post-secondary diploma or a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
Professional accounting designation is an asset.
Advanced Excel skills are required.
Knowledge of Oracle, Essbase, Microsoft Access, and SQL is an asset.
Supervisor experience preferred.
Strong financial analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
