We are leading the way in healthcare technology services. This position is in the Optum Insight Controllership team. The position resides in the OI Accounting & Reporting Team and works closely with business segment Controllers and accounting team members as well as other business partners. You must be willing to work cross-functionally amongst groups and provide a high level of service to internal customers. You will be responsible for consolidation of financial reporting, key accounting processes, oversight of global staff accountant work, and process improvement. As this is a highly visible role to senior leaders, this person will require strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

The ideal candidate will be a Hybrid employee working onsite in the Eden Prairie office alongside other key Controllership team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Compile and provide monthly executive level variance commentary for key financial reports such as P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow

  • Ensure day to day tasks are completed timely and accurately by global staff

  • Drive for standardizing and improving processes

  • Provide audit support quarterly and annually

  • Maintain ledger and financial databases

  • Own key metrics for the segment

  • Provide ad hoc reporting as requested

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting with 4+ years work experience in progressive roles

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Tools

  • Advanced communication skills both verbal and written

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adjust schedules to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Quick learning agility, resourceful, self-motivated, self-managed and works independently

  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve. Gather and analyze information skillfully

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA and/or Public Accounting experience

  • Accounting supervision or leadership experience

  • Experience in navigating a large scale Corporate environment

  • Experience with PeopleSoft GL and Essbase Smartview
