The Query Processing team of Aurora DSQL owns everything in the life cycle of a SQL statement like Parsing, Analysis (syntax and semantic), Rewriting, Planning (Optimizer) and Execution while providing customers access to observability metrics to help them understand their database performance better.
A successful candidate for this role is expected to have deep software engineering, project management, and people management skills. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and have the ability to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead an engineering team in the design, development, and deployment of new AWS services
• Mentor and grow your engineering team
• Design, implement and deliver state-of-the-art distributed, high-performance data and transaction management processing algorithms and solutions.
• Deploy and monitor new features in a highly available and fault tolerant system.

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of engineering experience
5+ years of engineering team management experience
10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience partnering with product and program management teams
Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
