NEW PIG CORPORATION Supervisor, Manufacturing Production (Duncansville, 3pm-11pm) in Duncansville, Pennsylvania

Production Supervisor (2nd Shift, 3pm-11pm, Duncansville)

Primary responsibility of the shift supervisor is to manage the day-to-day activities of the hourly production team in order to work safely, produce quality products, meet customer requirements, adhere to current standard work practices and continuously strive to improve standard work and develop a continuous improvement culture within the organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the production of the internal or external customer's demands while following the standards related to EHS, People Contribution, Quality, Delivery, Production Control and Equipment Efficiency
  • Manage the 2nd shift production team in Duncansville to meet daily production scheduling requirements while ensuring all products are made to standard work and quality requirements
  • Develop the team's skills in operation and problem solving
  • Ensure the team maintains a flow of suggestions from the workforce aimed at improving the standards
  • React quickly to the problems highlighted by visual management tools and visual control systems
  • Participate actively with the continuous improvement leader in implementation plan for 5S, visual management, team organization, management routine, "flash" meetings, etc.
  • Lead weekly shift meetings and other information sharing activities as needed
  • Update any/all daily production reports, status updates, etc.
  • Develop personal knowledge and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles to recognize wastes and develop corrective actions to eliminate them.
  • Adhere to New Pig's Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and/or abilities:

  • Secondary education in technical/business field or practical manufacturing management experience
  • Strong leader able to coach, develop and engage team members
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Able to lead continuous improvement activities (such as workshops or quick Kaizen events)
  • Respectful of people -- able to provide both positive/developmental feedback to develop people
  • Has basic technical knowledge of New Pig products and processes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with shop floor management software on PC-based platforms preferred (Factory tracker, Flow, Syteline, Trend, etc.)
