This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general, moderate supervision, the CAD Technician prepares or copies moderately complicated drawings, layouts, sketches, maps or graphic representations of engineering designs utilizing CAD software.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular engineering discipline.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Works closely with design originators (e.g., engineers, designers) to resolve design details or discrepancies and may provide minor design recommendations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Two year degree or higher in computer aided drafting, engineering technology, math, or a closely related field.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Three years or more of job-related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Requires excellent communication skills to establish and maintain productive working relationships.
A degree of initiative and latitude is required.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Raster Design is required.
This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
