Job Description:
This position serves as the Population Health data and reporting expert for the applications they support, which could include both Epic and Enterprise applications. Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for working with Population Health Finance & Analytics stakeholders across Essentia Health to understand analytics needs and translate those needs into analytics solutions. This requires collaboration with other members of the application support team to understand workflows, identify the right data elements, and select the best reporting tool to utilize to meet customer needs. BIAs are responsible for the development of design specifications and the building of reporting utilizing a variety of business intelligence tools. As analysts, BIAs are intrigued and driven by the challenge of creating information from data. Skilled at organizing the presentation of quantitative information to facilitate understanding, illuminate decision making, creating actionable data.
Work Experience: Foundational understanding of relational data models or application toolset foundations is preferred.
Prior experience with business intelligence tools is preferred. Examples include, but are not limited to: Epic Cogito Suite, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, Registries, Healthy Planet, Slicer/Dicer, Clarity/Caboodle Data Model, Crystal Reports, WEBi, SQL, Tableau, Qlik, Python, R or other analytic toolsets.
Required soft skills: relational data modeling, working with large data sets and flat files, data visualizations, data warehousing, data mining, analytical skills, predictive analysis, problem solving skills, attention to detail, prioritization skills and time management, requirements gathering.
Required technical skills: Structured Query Language (SQL), query tuning and optimization. Intermediate to advanced level. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) / Visual Studio / ETL. Intermediate to advanced level. Tableau / Power BI, data visualization, dashboard tools. Beginner to advanced level. Computer programming experience, Python, R, C#, SQL. Beginner to advanced level. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, OneDrive. Intermediate to advanced level. Secure file sharing, SFTP, data masking. Beginner to advanced level.
Preferred experience: Healthcare membership, eligibility, medical claims, pharmacy claims, provider file experience. Population health / value based care contracts / case management / clinical data experience. Healthcare billing / payment / coding, diagnosis, procedures, services experience. Epic, Hyperspace, Cogito fundamentals, data models Clarity / Caboodle, certifications. Mathematical statistics, regression analysis, probability distribution, descriptive, inferential. Proven success is translating business requirements into appropriate reporting, visualization or dashboard. Remote preferred location in our Essentia Health service area, MN, WI, ND.

Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathmatics, Statistics, or technology/healthcare related field.
