The Purpose of the NOC Network Engineer role is to manage, assure and govern the core networks and infrastructure of BT Ireland, recording, reporting, and communicating events and changes in line with the agreed processes. Operation of the day-to-day activities of the Network Operation Centre on a 24 hour rotated attendance will be your primary responsibility.

  1. The role is shift based and the team works 24 x 7 x 365 days a year. (12 hours shifts of 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am)

  2. The role is rota’ed across 3 different locations across Dublin. Although there's no travelling during your shift – having your own mode of transport is highly recommended as public transport to the locations may not always be reliable.

  3. The role is almost 100% office based with only very minimal home working.

  4. Must complete 8-10 weeks of training, working a normal Mon-Fri work week. Shifts and entitlement to claim the monthly shift allowance as per policy will begin after training is complete.

  5. Candidates must have right to work in Republic of Ireland.

  6. This is a full time role.

What will you be doing as a NOC Engineer?

  • NOC Engineers are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre and ensuring that at shift end a clear handover is completed.

  • NOC Engineers are responsible for the efficient in life management of the BT Ireland Network for ROI customers and completing network monitoring – to ensure all alarms are accounted for and fault tickets are managed for outstanding issues.

  • NOC Engineers complete first level fault diagnostics and drive incidents to resolution within the agreed SLA

  • NOC Engineers escalate incidents nearing SLA and manage them through to resolution, working closely with second and third line teams

  • NOC Engineers communicate effectively with our customers and the business as per process.

  • NOC Engineers participate in, and contribute to our teams focus on being a Healthy Place to Work and our strive towards maintaining Continuous Improvement

Shift Allowance

12-hour shift pattern within 24/7/365 work rota

  • Shifts are generally 7:00am to 7:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am

  • Shift pattern covers nights. weekends and/or public holidays

  • Hours average over 6-week period to comply with WTR
