In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and develop embedded software for on vehicle applications, for Fire and Concrete mixer markets.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Design and develop – Design, develop and test real time embedded software using C/C++/Rust for Vocational Connection Products, which includes building embedded video recording/streaming service and developing vehicle network-connected solutions.

  • Quality Assurance – Ensure high software quality through rigorous testing and development of automated unit tests.

  • Application Management - Use Atlassian tool chain to maintain and improve existing software platform.

  • Collaboration - Participate in code reviews, story refinement, and other engineering activities.

  • Value Delivery – Incorporate SAFe/Agile principles for value delivery in short increments.

  • Process compliance - Follow a CMMI Level 3 process for developing and maintaining software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with eight (8) or more years of related experience.

  • 8 or more years of experience in developing embedded C and C++ software.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with multimedia frameworks (e.g. ffmeg, gstreamer) and codecs.

  • Experience implementing video streaming protocols.

  • Experience with network architectures and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, RTP)

  • Deep knowledge of LAN and IP network related concepts.

  • Experience in IoT, automotive or heavy-duty vehicle CAN bus, J1939 protocol and architecture.

  • Familiarity with ISO 26262, MIL-STD-882, or other software safety standards.

  • Secure software development experience, following cyber-security best practices such as ISO 21434.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and communication skills.

  • Experience working in SAFe, Scrum or Agile environment.

  • Ability to thrive in a startup like culture, excels in ambiguous situations, and embraces technical challenges.
