Job Description Summary

As AAM continues to grow, we are adding an Industrial Engineer to join the existing team at our Twinsburg, Ohio Metal Forming facility!

As an Industrial Engineer with AAM you will: Analyze the operating environment; identifying process inefficiencies and wastes of time, money, materials, and energy. Conduct time and motion studies. Conceptualize improvements and assist in implementation of new and enhanced processes and tools. Develop and evaluate pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes. Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.

The ideal candidate will have professional experience as an Industrial Engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Job Description

  • Develops labor standards by analyzing work samples and methods; measuring work performance.
  • Improves labor utilization by studying work methods; testing modifications; crafting new methods; recommending job restructuring.
  • Improves workflow by studying process flow charts; recommending modifications in workflow, work stations and product; developing new procedures; recommending equipment modifications and purchases.
  • Reduces waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommending changes; identifying and analyzing waste.
  • Implements work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
  • Prepares work-analysis information and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completes work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.
  • Maintains operations guidelines by writing and updating policies, procedures and methods.
  • Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Prior professional experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing environment required.
