Actalent Construction Superintendent in Detroit, Michigan
Description
Our construction engineering client is looking for a skilled superintendent who can manage trades and be responsible for doing multiple roles i.e. superintendent, foreman, project manager all in one.
Summary
Manages day-to-day operations on construction sites and is focused on hands-on management. Studies blueprints to determine dimensions of structure. Assigns workers tasks, ensures safety precautions are followed, and inspects work performed by subcontractors. Prepares, strategizes, and supervises all construction related activities planned in conjunction with the project team. Direct interfacing and an open, professional dialogue with the project manager to ensure a smooth flow of project information from start to finish with emphasis on costs, man hours and scheduling of self-performed activities. Primary focus to be centered upon having the work performed as efficiently and safely as possible using all available resources. Mitigates issues affecting schedule and costs to minimize impact to bottom line and project schedule. Coordinates scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
Qualifications:
-3+ years of field supervision experience
-5+ years of construction experience
-High school diploma or GED
-Proficient in MS Office

Ideal Company Experience:
Self-perform experience and less CM/GC only- someone who’s managed trades vs subcontractors only.
Small businesses or small subcontractors - in small size companies, you have less support and personnel so you have to be responsible for doing multiple roles i.e. superintendent, foreman, project manager all in one.
Would consider someone who started as a laborer-operator-foreman-superintendent.
Bonus qualifications:
-Experience working with truckers or yard maintenance staff
-Self-perform experience
-Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
-Experience with Lean principles

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
