Job Description
We are seeking a Junior FDIR-FSW Systems Engineer to document fault detection actions at system and subsystem levels. In this role, you will review FMECAs and provide feedback on failure mode detection, isolation, and recovery. You will align Operations documents and FDIR strategy by providing input to Operations Procedures, Manuals, and Satellite test procedures. Additionally, you will provide inputs to the satellite DB team for parameters and monitors by reviewing ICDs, ensure design compliance with FDIR requirements by reviewing payload, platform, and subsystem design and requirements, and review Operations Procedures to ensure alignment with the FDIR strategy. You will also evaluate FDIR test artifacts to determine test success, develop Verification & Validation Matrices for payload and platform FDIR requirements, support operations team for In-Orbit Test (IOT), anomaly resolution, and FDIR, assist payload team in defining payload to platform FDIR, and support ICD development activities for both hardware and software/database.
Responsibilities

Review FMECAs and provide feedback on failure mode detection, isolation, and recovery.
Align Operations documents and FDIR strategy by providing input to Operations Procedures, Manuals, and Satellite test procedures.
Provide inputs to the satellite DB team for parameters and monitors by reviewing ICDs.
Ensure design compliance with FDIR requirements by reviewing payload, platform, and subsystem design and requirements.
Review Operations Procedures to ensure alignment with the FDIR strategy.
Evaluate FDIR test artifacts to determine test success.
Develop Verification & Validation Matrices for payload and platform FDIR requirements.
Support operations team for In-Orbit Test (IOT), anomaly resolution, and FDIR.
Assist payload team in defining payload to platform FDIR.
Support ICD development activities for both hardware and software/database.
Must Have Skills
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a relevant field.
At least 5 years of relevant practical experience, which can be supplemented with higher degrees relevant to Engineering.
Knowledge of LEO/MEO satellite systems.
Knowledge of satellite systems and subsystems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Fault Trees and FMECAs
Working knowledge of PUS Services
Experience and/or development of payloads
Work Environment
This is a 100% REMOTE opportunity with travel once a quarter for 3-5 days to Canada, France, or Sweden. A valid passport is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $100.00/hr.
