Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Laboratory Director, the Supervisor of the Lab is responsible to coordinate personnel, equipment, resources and testing procedures within the lab. Required to compile QA statistics, attend departmental meetings assigned by the director. Supervises training and educational programs to include regulatory compliance with CAP and Joint Commission standards - required to update all procedures as regulations are updated, completes competency assessments, revise proficiency testing, and participates in data entry for PT results. Researches and provides technical support to Physicians for guidance on Laboratory testing and evaluates new technology, also me assigned additional duties as determined by the Laboratory

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Science degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Science related field.

  • Four (4) years in primary area of responsibility and one (1) year of supervisory experience.

  • MT/MLT - (ASCP) American Society of Clinical Pathologists or AMT is required.

  • Must be able to read and write, draft emails and departmental procedures, proficient in Word and Excel Must learn or have the ability to troubeshoot and teach computer software in their section. Required to file change requests to enhance LIS software in their section.
